President’s Statement on the Liberation of Bucha

“Three years ago, our soldiers liberated Bucha from Russian occupiers. And the world saw what Russian occupation looks like. People killed in the streets. Tortured individuals. Graves in the yards of ordinary houses. Since then, no one in the world can say they do not know what Ukraine is defending. Ukraine is fighting for life for its people. So that no one, anywhere on our land, can do what the Russian occupiers have done,” emphasized the head of state.

Since 2024, investigators from the National Police have uncovered 72 murders committed by Russian invaders in Bucha. A total of 2,500 Russian servicemen who were in this city have been identified. To date, 34 Russian occupiers have been notified of suspicions of committing war crimes, and 24 indictments have been sent to court regarding Russians who committed war crimes.
