A Fraudster Detained in Kyiv for Fake Documents for Leaving the Country

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a 34-year-old man who organized a scheme for issuing fake documents to leave the country. He charged $50,000 for his services, promising to help conscripts legally exit the country.

How the Scheme Worked and Its Scale

According to the prosecutor’s office, the perpetrator was involved in organizing the forgery of documents for medical examinations and removal from military registration.

“It has been established that the assistance in preparing all necessary documents for the medical examination and the military registration office was valued at $50,000. Thus, a conscript removed from the register could legally leave the country”

. Such a service allowed individuals to leave the country illegally, which is a criminal offense.

Circumstances of the Detention and Additional Findings

The detention occurred during the receipt of money and documents from a “client”. During searches, law enforcement officers found a grenade and weapons with the man, which are now being sent for examination. A criminal proceeding has been opened for the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine.

It is noted that the detained individual has been charged under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He has been placed in custody with the possibility of posting bail of over 2 million hryvnias.
