Accusations Against GSC Game World

The Russian agency claims that GSC Game World allegedly financially supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the prosecutor’s office, in 2022 alone, the company donated approximately 17 million dollars for the needs of the Ukrainian army. Furthermore, the developer is accused of contributing to the formation of a negative image of Russia as an ‘aggressor state’ and of disseminating materials that, in the opinion of the Russian side, discredit the country.

Reasons for the Ban and Reaction of the Russian Prosecutor’s Office

According to an official statement from the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, in 2024, GSC Game World released a computer game that, according to Russian officials, promotes Ukrainian narratives and contains ‘aggressive Russophobic content’.

‘In 2024, the organization released a computer game that promotes Ukrainian narratives and contains aggressive Russophobic content,’ the Russian agency stated.

Following this decision, the activities of GSC Game World have been deemed prohibited for Russian citizens and organizations, and cooperation with the company may lead to legal liability on the territory of the Russian Federation.
