Kyiv Man Convicted for Attacking Elderly Woman

A court in Kyiv has sentenced a 28-year-old man who robbed an 88-year-old pensioner in April of this year. According to the court’s decision, the perpetrator will spend seven and a half years behind bars.
The Robbery Occurred Near the Victim’s Home
It is known that the criminal, along with his accomplice, selected their victim in one of the capital’s stores, where the woman was paying for her purchases. They followed her to the entrance of her apartment building.
“They followed her to her home, and then one of the attackers pushed the pensioner in the entrance, causing her to lose her balance and fall, while the convicted man took her bag containing 10,000 hryvnias,” the police reported.
Investigation into the Accomplice Continues
Both suspects were promptly apprehended. Currently, the court has issued a verdict for only one of them, while law enforcement continues the pre-trial investigation regarding the second attacker.
