The state enterprise had long ignored demands to clean up the area

In the capital’s Obolon district, law enforcement officials achieved the elimination of a large unauthorized landfill located on a 2.5-hectare plot of land.
Discovery and scale of the illegal landfill
The illegal accumulation of waste was discovered on Vyshgorodska Street. The land was under the use of a state enterprise and was designated for agricultural activities. However, instead of this, the enterprise used the area for the storage of various wastes, including construction debris, glass, plastic, textiles, wood, and metal. In fact, the site had turned into a large illegal dump.
Actions of the authorities and resolution of the issue
Despite numerous demands from the State Environmental Inspection and an order from the Department of Territorial Control of the Kyiv City State Administration to rectify the violations, the enterprise had long taken no action to clean the area. Consequently, the Obolon District Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit to compel the enterprise to eliminate the landfill.
“During the court proceedings, the enterprise voluntarily complied with the prosecutor’s demands and cleared the site of waste. Therefore, this case has been closed by the court.”
Thus, thanks to the intervention of law enforcement agencies, the 2.5-hectare area was cleared of unauthorized waste, and the court proceedings in this matter have been concluded.
