The European Union may expand in the coming years with the addition of two new countries. According to statements from European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, Montenegro could become a full member of the EU by the end of 2026, and Albania by 2027. She emphasized that this process is technical and depends on the completion of internal procedures, including the screening of legislation for potential candidates, which is carried out by the European Commission.
