Open Competition for Four Independent Members of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom

В уряді оголосили конкурс на 4 посади незалежних членів наглядової ради «Енергоатому»

The Government of Ukraine has announced the start of an open competition for four independent members of the supervisory board of the company Energoatom. This was reported by the Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev.

Reasons for Updating the Supervisory Board

The decision to prematurely terminate the powers of the previous supervisory board was made by the Cabinet of Ministers on November 11 due to an investigation into a corruption case. According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the activities of a criminal organization, whose main focus was the “systematic receipt of unlawful benefits from Energoatom’s contractors ranging from 10% to 15% of the contract value,” led to the suspicion of eight individuals.

In this context, the government adopted an action plan for updating the composition of supervisory boards and executive bodies of enterprises in the fuel and energy complex, particularly in the company Energoatom.

Conditions for Participation in the Competition and Requirements for Candidates

As noted by Oleksiy Sobolev, documents for participation in the competition will be accepted from November 25 to December 4, 2025. Both Ukrainian and foreign experts with management experience in the fields of energy, nuclear energy, electricity markets, finance, auditing, risk management, compliance, and corporate governance are eligible to participate. An important condition is compliance with independence requirements and having an impeccable business reputation.

“Both Ukrainian and foreign specialists with management experience in energy and nuclear energy, electricity markets, finance, auditing, risk management, compliance, and corporate governance, who meet the independence requirements and have an impeccable business reputation, may apply.”

Documents must be submitted in both Ukrainian and English.

The government press service emphasized that the competition is part of a joint action plan with G7 countries aimed at reforming corporate governance in Energoatom, agreed upon at the end of last week. The Ministry of Economy regularly informs the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund, and key international financial organizations about the progress of this plan.

According to Sobolev, the new composition of the supervisory board of Energoatom is expected to be presented by the end of 2025.
