Efforts to Restore Electricity Supply Continue

According to the president, Russian troops are striking even with FPV drones at transformers in the Zaporizhzhia region, significantly complicating the work of energy workers. Volodymyr Zelensky thanked everyone involved in addressing the aftermath of the attacks and clarified that the necessary forces for restoring energy supply in each region have already been mobilized. The president also noted that he received reports from Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba and Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko regarding the progress of restoration work.

“They even struck transformers in the Zaporizhzhia region with FPV drones. I thank the repair teams, energy workers, all utility services, and emergency services who are working almost around the clock to support people. Today, reports were already received from Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba and Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. The necessary forces are in place, and every region is doing its utmost to restore energy supply,” he reported.

Diplomatic Pressure on Russia and Situation Assessment

The president emphasized the need to support the active work of diplomatic agencies. Zelensky pointed out that Russia only returns to diplomacy after significant pressure from the international community and a real military threat. At the same time, as soon as this pressure weakens, Russian representatives try to avoid negotiations.

Volodymyr Zelensky called for maintaining constant pressure on the Russian Federation and noted that only a powerful long-range defense of Ukraine forces the Russian leadership to reckon with reality.

Due to recent strikes on energy infrastructure in Chernihiv and the northern communities of the region, electricity supply has been completely cut off, as reported by the head of the regional military administration, Viacheslav Chaus. The Ministry of Energy stated that due to ongoing attacks by Russian drones, emergency teams cannot begin repair work in Chernihiv region.

The Russian army regularly employs various types of weaponry — strike drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems — to attack Ukrainian regions. Despite this, the Russian leadership officially denies targeting civilian infrastructure, although numerous facts indicate the destruction of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy facilities, and water supply systems.

Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these attacks as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize their targeted nature.
