The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has announced charges against the head of the ‘Kyivzelenbud’ department and the director of the contracting organization, who are suspected of illegally misappropriating budget funds during the reconstruction and improvement of the ‘Orlyatko’ park in the Solomianskyi district of the capital.

Scheme of Embezzlement
The investigation established that the contracting construction company took on the obligation to remove soil from the park’s territory, while a representative of ‘Kyivzelenbud’ was supposed to monitor the actual volumes of work performed. However, the director of the contracting organization included information in official documents about work that was not actually carried out. Thus, the perpetrators managed to illegally obtain over 800 thousand hryvnias from the city budget.
Investigation and Legal Responsibility
The prosecutor’s office has informed the individuals involved of the suspicion of misappropriating budget funds through official forgery and abuse of office during the repair work at the ‘Orlyatko’ park.

An ongoing pre-trial investigation is underway. If proven guilty, the suspects face penalties under current Ukrainian legislation.
