Details of the Ceasefire and International Reactions

According to the head of Ukrainian diplomacy, the success of American resolve has already led to constructive results in the Middle East. He emphasized the importance of similar persistence in relations with the Russian Federation to compel Moscow to end the war against Ukraine.

“American resolve works. We believe it is time to show sufficient determination to make Moscow cease fire and end the war against Ukraine,” he wrote on social media platform X.

US President Donald Trump announced the achievement of a two-week ceasefire with Iran, during which the parties are to negotiate a comprehensive peace agreement. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed Tehran’s agreement to these terms. Iranian representatives noted that safe passage for vessels through the Strait of Hormuz would be ensured during the specified two weeks.

Negotiations and Impact on Other Countries

It has been reported that the first round of negotiations between the USA and Iran regarding the peace agreement will take place on Friday, April 10, in Islamabad. These will be the first in-person talks since the outbreak of the armed conflict.

The armed escalation in the Middle East began on February 28 with a joint operation by the USA and Israel against Iran. In response, Iranian military forces carried out massive missile and drone attacks not only on Israeli and American targets but also on those of neighboring regional countries.

Due to the escalation of the security situation in the Middle East, trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the USA, and Russia, which had been ongoing from January to February, were postponed without setting a new date. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the negotiation process continues and has not reached a deadlock.

On April 1, Volodymyr Zelensky had a productive conversation with representatives of US President Donald Trump – Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner, which also included Senator Lindsey Graham and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Following the discussion, it was agreed to maintain constant contact between the teams of Ukraine and the USA to strengthen the security guarantee document between the two countries.
