The Government and the Verkhovna Rada Coordinate Important Decisions

According to Svyrydenko, agreements were reached during the negotiations with members of parliament to include urgent bills, for which consensus has already been achieved, in the agenda of the upcoming sessions of the Verkhovna Rada. The specific list of these legislative initiatives has not been disclosed, but consultations between the government and parliament will continue on other issues.

“To ensure stable international financing, Ukraine, particularly within the framework of the Ukraine Facility and the IMF program, must do its ‘homework’ to continue reforms. The key role in this is joint: of parliament and government,” she wrote in a telegram.

Difficulties in Decision-Making in the Verkhovna Rada

Recently, there have been difficulties in the parliamentary session hall with voting on a number of bills that are strategically important for Ukraine’s future, particularly for advancing on the path to the European Union. Although the ‘Servant of the People’ faction formally retains a majority, in practice, this majority does not always provide the necessary number of votes for making important decisions. In recent weeks, there has been a lack of votes in the Verkhovna Rada for the adoption of several legislative initiatives, leading to discussions about a possible parliamentary crisis.
