Honoring the Resilience of Ukrainians and the Role of the USA

In an official statement, the American diplomatic mission emphasized the courage and self-sacrifice of the Ukrainian people, as well as expressing special gratitude to the Ukrainian staff of the embassy for their dedicated support and partnership on the path to peace.

“On this anniversary, we honor the people of Ukraine for their bravery and self-sacrifice and express special gratitude to the Ukrainian staff of the Embassy for their dedicated support and partnership on the path to peace.”

According to reports, U.S. President Donald Trump remains committed to achieving a negotiated settlement and establishing lasting peace. The American side emphasizes that such peace will guarantee an independent and successful future for Ukraine, and the U.S. will continue to be a strong and reliable partner for the Ukrainian state.

Negotiations, Prisoner Exchanges, and Positions of the Parties

According to diplomatic sources, the U.S. actively supports the idea of concluding a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia by July 4, when America celebrates Independence Day. Several rounds of trilateral negotiations involving Ukraine, the U.S., and the Russian Federation took place in January and February of this year, aimed at ending the war. Although no specific results of these meetings have been officially reported, it is known that on February 5, an agreement was reached for a prisoner exchange — the first in the last five months.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy Stephen Witkoff stated in a recent interview that he expects “good news” in the coming weeks and did not rule out the possibility of a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

At the same time, Russia continues to insist on its demands, particularly regarding Ukraine’s renunciation of territories in Donbas, and shows no willingness to make concessions. For its part, Ukraine demands reliable security guarantees from the U.S. and European allies to help protect the country from future aggression by Russia.
