Ukraine and Turkey Agree on New Steps in Security Cooperation

Ukraine and Turkey have reached agreements in Istanbul regarding the implementation of new measures in the field of security cooperation. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Deepening Security Cooperation

According to Zelensky, the parties discussed current issues in bilateral relations, as well as the situation in Europe and the Middle East. The President emphasized the importance of joint and coordinated actions that will contribute to enhancing security and protecting lives in various regions of the world.

“We discussed bilateral relations between our countries, the situation in Europe and the Middle East. It is important that joint and coordinated actions strengthen the protection of lives and provide greater security for peoples in every part of the world,” Zelensky noted.

The President highlighted that an agreement has been reached on specific steps in security cooperation. This includes, in particular, the use of Ukrainian expertise, technologies, and experience to support Turkey.

Joint Projects in the Gas Sector and Gratitude to Turkey

A separate topic of the negotiations was the implementation of joint projects in the development of gas infrastructure and potential cooperation regarding the exploration of gas fields. Zelensky emphasized that there is a fundamental political readiness for joint work, and in the near future, the teams of both countries will finalize the details of the agreements.

The President of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish people for their consistent support of Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
