“I am grateful to everyone who ensures protection and increases generation. We also expect new agreements with our partners regarding the supply of equipment for energy facilities – this should be achieved this week.”

Status of Energy Project Implementation in the Regions

Zelensky noted that he discussed the progress of plans to enhance the resilience of regions and key cities in Ukraine with the head of government. Work is already underway at 368 facilities, primarily related to modernizing their protection. However, the president pointed out that some regions are lagging behind previously established schedules, which were set to achieve the necessary results before the start of the new heating season.

“There are issues with the work in Lviv, Volyn, Odesa regions, and in Kyiv,” Zelensky emphasized, highlighting the need to accelerate the pace in these areas.

Next Steps to Strengthen Energy Security

The president reported that an agreement has been reached with Yulia Svyrydenko to resume holding conference calls. These will involve government officials, representatives of regional administrations and communities, as well as law enforcement and military structures responsible for the protection of energy facilities.

Zelensky also reminded that on April 2, he marked the beginning of restoration work at 245 facilities across the country, despite limited funding. According to him, it is planned to use 5 billion euros from a 90 billion euro package currently under consideration by the European Union for Ukraine to prepare for the next winter and to promptly restore the energy infrastructure.
