New Export Platforms for Arms

According to the president, the opening of these offices will be the first step in building a Ukrainian network for arms sales abroad. Zelensky noted that these centers will engage in both export and joint production of weapons with foreign partners. This will enable Ukraine to obtain additional financial resources for the production of scarce military equipment for its own needs.

“We are opening two export capitals. You know that this is coproduction and export, which we have talked about, of the weapons that we can afford to sell in order to have extra funds for our domestic production of scarce items that we lack funding for,” Zelensky said.

The president also reported that all legal issues are already being resolved at the state and company levels. The opening of the offices will be accompanied by the signing of relevant contracts with foreign buyers.

International Cooperation and Prospects

In addition to establishing new export offices, Zelensky announced an upcoming visit by an American delegation to Ukraine next week to discuss a deal on drone production. Previously, the president emphasized Kyiv’s readiness to negotiate with the U.S. regarding the supply of Tomahawk missiles in exchange for domestically produced drones. Former U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the interest of the United States in Ukrainian drones.

In September, Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Ukraine already has agreements for four export platforms in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He stressed that the goal is to sell surplus types of weapons to raise funds for the development and production of modern equipment that Ukrainian military forces lack.

During his speech at the UN General Assembly, the head of state noted that opening the arms export market will allow partners to present systems that have proven their effectiveness in real combat conditions. According to the president’s estimates, nearly 60% of the weapons used by the Ukrainian army are produced in Ukraine.
