Expanding Cooperation and the Role of Ukrainian Experts

According to the president, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, is coordinating contacts with partners in the mentioned regions. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready to provide the necessary assistance, which will enhance cooperation in the field of security and create additional opportunities for the protection of both partner countries and Ukraine itself. In his video address, the president noted that Ukrainian military personnel possess all the required competencies, and expert groups are already preparing to work directly on the ground.

“Our military has the necessary capabilities. Ukrainian experts will work on-site, and teams are already coordinating this. We are ready to help protect lives, safeguard civilians, and support real efforts to stabilize the situation and restore, in particular, safe navigation in the region.”

International Context and Strategic Importance of Support

Recent events in the Middle East have intensified security concerns: on February 28, the USA and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, to which Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and American military bases in the Persian Gulf. Not only military but also civilian facilities in various countries in the region have come under fire.

It is known that Ukraine has received a request from the USA for specific support in countering attacks by Iranian kamikaze drones of the Shahed type in the Middle East region. The involvement of Ukrainian specialists is expected to enhance the level of protection and stabilize the situation.

Military analyst Valentyn Badrak believes that Ukraine’s involvement in security processes in the Middle East will allow Kyiv not only to strengthen its international position but also to acquire new technologies and licenses, particularly for the modernization of Patriot and Aster missiles for the SAMP/T NG system. In his opinion, uniting efforts with European partners will bolster Ukraine’s position on the international stage.
