Ukrainian Delegation May Visit the U.S. for Negotiations

Українська делегація може відвідати США цього тижня – Бессент

A delegation from Ukraine has planned a visit to the United States, which may take place either this week or next. This was stated by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in an interview with Bloomberg.

This is reported by Kyiv24

This visit comes amid U.S. efforts aimed at ending the war between Ukraine and Russia. However, Bessent did not specify whether negotiations regarding an agreement on Ukrainian minerals would take place.

Context of the Ukrainian Delegation’s Visit

The announcement comes in the wake of the arrival in the U.S. of Russia’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev. According to CNN, Dmitriev plans to meet soon with U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Vitkoff.

This visit marks the first time a high-ranking Russian official has visited Washington since the onset of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. To obtain a visa, U.S. sanctions on Dmitriev were temporarily lifted, as reported by the network. State Department representatives do not comment on visa issues for privacy reasons.
