The United Kingdom has announced a new large-scale defense aid package for Ukraine, which includes the transfer of at least 120,000 drones in 2026. The announcement was made on April 15 and coincided with Defense Minister John Healey’s visit to Berlin, where a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group is taking place.

Largest Drone Package from the United Kingdom for Ukraine
The new military aid package is the largest of its kind ever provided by Britain. The shipment includes thousands of long-range strike drones, reconnaissance and surveillance drones, logistical drones, as well as maritime devices that have already undergone combat testing on the front lines in Ukraine. Deliveries of these drones have already begun in April.
“The new package, the largest of its kind ever supplied by the United Kingdom, will include thousands of long-range strike drones, reconnaissance and surveillance drones, logistical drones, and maritime assets that have been combat-tested on the front lines of Ukraine. Deliveries of these new drones to Ukraine have already commenced this month,” the statement reads.
London emphasizes that drones play a key role in both the counterattacks of Ukrainian forces along the entire front line and in repelling ongoing attacks from the Russian Federation.
Support for British Business and Economy
Most of the investments are aimed at supporting British companies, including Tekever, Windracers, and Malloy Aeronautics. This decision is expected to stimulate technological development, create new jobs in the UK, and strengthen skills and innovation across the regions of the country. The government also highlights that this contributes to the security of both Britain itself and the broader European deterrence against Russian aggression.
Defense Minister John Healey stated that providing such a large batch of combat-proven drones will significantly enhance the capabilities of Ukrainian forces in countering Russian aggression. He also emphasized that the United Kingdom will not cease its support for Ukraine, despite the international community’s shifting focus to the Middle East.
Funding for the delivery of drones is also being secured through the European Union’s Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration mechanism. In addition to drones, London plans to provide Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of artillery shells and thousands of missiles for air defense systems in 2026.
