Snow and Blizzards: Details of the Forecast for Kyiv
On Monday, December 29, the capital and the Kyiv region are expected to experience continued frosty weather. According to meteorologists, cloudy weather with snowfall will persist throughout the day. In some areas, blizzards and reduced visibility on the roads are possible.
“In Kyiv and the region – cloudy, snow. Icy conditions on the roads. Wind – north-west, 7-12 m/s, with gusts of 15-20 m/s at night and in the morning, blizzard,” – meteorologists warned.
Temperature and Impact on Urban Infrastructure
Meteorologists predict that in the Kyiv region, nighttime temperatures will drop to -1 to -6°C, while during the day, thermometers will fluctuate between -4°C and +1°C. In Kyiv itself, nighttime temperatures will range from -2 to -4°C, with daytime temperatures expected to be around 0°C.
Due to the challenging weather conditions, meteorologists caution that there may be complications in the operations of energy, construction, and utility services, as well as during transportation due to icy conditions and snow drifts.
As of this morning, the recorded air temperature in the capital is -3°C with a relative humidity of 84% and atmospheric pressure of 734 mm Hg.
