Key Issues of the Meeting

During the negotiations, the parties focused on issues of defense support for Ukraine and mechanisms for its financing through European instruments, particularly within the framework of the SAFE program. Special attention was given to the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles and the process of Ukraine’s Euro-integration, including the opening of negotiation clusters.

For me personally, it is important to emphasize that Ukraine is not alone in this struggle against the aggressor. I also confirmed this to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, who sincerely thanked Latvia and our people for their military, humanitarian, political, economic, and human support.

New Defense Package from Latvia

The Ukrainian president expressed gratitude to the Latvian side for the new defense package of assistance, which will significantly enhance the defense capability of the Ukrainian army. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring fairness in the process of Ukraine’s Euro-integration.

Evika Silina’s visit to Kyiv became an important symbol of Latvia’s solidarity with Ukraine and a confirmation of unwavering support for the Ukrainian state in its resistance to Russian aggression.
