The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, may also participate in the meeting. Peace Initiatives and Diplomatic Efforts

During a public discussion at ADF-Talks within the 5th Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Sybiha stressed that Ukraine is open to a ceasefire, but to achieve sustainable peace, international pressure on Moscow must be intensified. He noted: Putin must realize that he will not be able to achieve his goals on the battlefield.

“We need to impose a ban on entry to Europe and the transatlantic space for Russian combatants who participated in the aggression against Ukraine,” the minister said.

Assessment of the US Negotiation Process

US Vice President JD Vance reported on April 8 in Hungary about some progress in negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. According to him, the positions of the parties are gradually converging, and the documents received from both sides indicate a willingness to engage in dialogue. Vance noted that disputes are currently ongoing regarding specific territories and questioned the wisdom of further loss of life and economic damage due to the prolongation of the war.

President Zelensky, responding to these remarks, pointed out that the occupation of Donbas allows Russia to prepare for new offensive operations. He stated that any concessions regarding territorial integrity could provoke further aggression from Moscow.

Previously, due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, trilateral negotiations involving Ukraine, the US, and Russia, which took place in January and February, were suspended indefinitely. However, President Zelensky emphasized that he does not consider these negotiations to be futile.

On April 1, Zelensky reported on a constructive conversation with representatives of President Donald Trump – Stephen Witkoff and Jared Kushner, which also included Senator Lindsey Graham and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Following the dialogue, the parties agreed to maintain constant contact to strengthen security guarantees between Ukraine and the US.
