Rustem Umerov emphasized that the partners from the USA were constructive, and the primary task of the delegation remained a detailed study of the American proposals. According to him, all necessary materials related to the dialogue with the USA and the course of negotiations in Moscow will be handed over to President Volodymyr Zelensky today.

“Together with all partners, we must do everything for a dignified end to this war. Today we will provide the President of Ukraine with complete information on all aspects of the dialogue with the American side and all documents. We are working as intensively as possible,” Umerov added.

Outcomes of the Negotiations and Reactions from the Parties

Earlier, former US President Donald Trump stated that Volodymyr Zelensky had not yet familiarized himself with the American peace initiatives, while noting that his team positively assessed these proposals. According to Trump, Russia is satisfied with such conditions, although “Russia would prefer to have all of Ukraine.”

On December 6, President Zelensky reported on a “substantive, constructive” phone conversation with Trump’s team, emphasizing that Ukraine remains committed to working honestly to achieve peace.

On December 2, negotiations between American representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and Vladimir Putin regarding possible parameters of a peace agreement concluded in Moscow. Putin’s assistant, Yuri Ushakov, reported that no compromise was reached, although certain American initiatives appeared acceptable to the Russian side.

Subsequently, Vladimir Putin confirmed that during the meeting with Witkoff and Kushner, the Russian representatives did not agree with some points of the American plan, although the discussion of the initiative was detailed. As Yuri Ushakov explained, there was no substantive discussion on each point — it was mostly about the overall concept of peaceful resolution.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga noted the positive impact of the recent negotiations in Moscow on the peace process. According to him, the American side has already invited the Ukrainian delegation for further discussions in the USA in the near future.
