Redirecting Energy Resources for the Population

According to Yulia Svyrydenko, government officials have instructed all responsible agencies and services to ensure the unconditional implementation of the decision to redirect energy resources in full. This resource will become available due to a review of the list of critical infrastructure facilities, which has allowed for a reduction in the load on certain enterprises and freed up to 1 GW of capacity for household consumers.

“This is one of the steps that will help balance the energy system and reduce the number of outages for people,” Svyrydenko noted.

The Situation in Ukraine’s Energy Sector

Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression by Russia in February 2022, Ukraine’s energy infrastructure has been subjected to regular shelling. Since the fall of 2025, Russian forces have intensified attacks on Ukraine’s energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies gas to the population during the heating season.

As a result of damage to energy facilities from Russian attacks, Ukraine is experiencing scheduled hourly power outages, as well as capacity restrictions for industrial enterprises and businesses. To stabilize the situation, the government is taking additional measures, including redirecting energy resources for household consumers.
