Discussion of strategic challenges for the country
During the meeting, the parties had an open conversation about the current situation in the country. The agenda included issues related to the war, economic challenges, and key tasks for the state in the coming months. Davyd Arakhamia emphasized the importance of mobilizing all resources to stabilize the country in the next six months. The priorities identified include ensuring the resilience of state institutions, supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, timely payment of social assistance, uninterrupted operation of the energy sector, economic development, and effective functioning of local self-government. Additionally, the necessity of further progress towards Ukraine’s accession to the European Union was highlighted.
“Everyone understands: the next 6 months must be a time of maximum concentration and stabilization of the country’s work. Our priority is to ensure the resilience of state institutions, support for the army, timely payments to people, the operation of energy, the economy, and local self-government. We must also continue to take steps that bring us closer to EU membership.”
Outcomes and positions of the meeting participants
Volodymyr Zelensky, in his address, emphasized that together with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the deputies, they discussed priorities for work in the near future. According to People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, personnel issues were not considered during the meeting, and questions regarding specific officials were not raised.
Zheleznyak also noted that the president mentioned another possible date for the end of hostilities, which this time was stated as November 2026. However, according to him, the attendees reacted skeptically to this, as similar predictions had been made before but were not confirmed in reality.
It is worth noting that last week Zelensky already held a meeting with representatives of the Servant of the People faction, where key issues of parliamentary work and priorities of the agenda in the Verkhovna Rada were discussed.
