French President Emmanuel Macron firmly condemned the massive missile attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, during which the ballistic missile “Oreshnik” was used. According to the French leader, this indicates further escalation and hopelessness of the Russian aggression.

“France condemns the massive attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine and the use of the ballistic missile ‘Oreshnik’, which primarily indicates ‘further escalation and the deadlock of Russian aggression,’ said French President Emmanuel Macron.
Macron also emphasized that France will continue to support Ukraine, promote the achievement of a just and lasting peace, and strengthen the security of the European continent.
Massive attack on Kyiv and regions of Ukraine
On the night of May 24, Ukraine faced a massive attack from the Russian Federation. According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy used 600 drones of various types and 90 missiles from air, sea, and ground bases. The main direction of the strike was aimed at Kyiv.
As a result of the attack, two people were killed in Kyiv, and another 69 were injured. Damage was recorded at over 40 sites in various districts of the capital, including Shevchenkivskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnyanskyi, Obolonskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts.
Consequences of shelling in various regions
The massive attack led to the destruction of apartment buildings and private homes, shopping centers, educational institutions, markets, administrative premises of the State Emergency Service and police, as well as the National Chernobyl Museum.
In Kyiv Oblast, according to the regional military administration, two people were killed in Bucha and Obukhiv districts, and nine others, including an infant, were injured. In Cherkasy, as a result of a drone strike on a high-rise building, 11 people were injured, including two children.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that at least 83 people were affected by this massive attack, with fatalities recorded.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that the strikes were carried out by drones and missiles, including the ballistic missiles “Oreshnik”, allegedly targeting military command facilities, air bases, and enterprises of Ukraine’s defense industry.
