Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has officially confirmed his participation in the upcoming Ukraine – Southeast Europe summit. This was the result of a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which current issues of cooperation between the countries and preparations for the forum were discussed.

Details of the Negotiations and Expectations for the Summit
Zelensky reported on his Telegram channel that during the conversation with Plenković, they discussed issues of support for Ukraine and the further development of diplomatic relations. “The Ukrainian people know they can count on Croatia’s support. We have good relations between our countries and continue to develop them… I briefly informed him about our diplomatic efforts and preparations for continuing negotiations with the Russian side. If Russia continues to prolong the war, there must be strong sanctions in response,” he noted.
Plenković also confirmed on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that he spoke with Zelensky regarding the upcoming Ukraine – Southeast Europe summit. He emphasized that they discussed the latest measures related to peace negotiations, as well as support for Ukraine as a victim of aggression.

In the lead-up to the summit, Zelensky announced that he had invited the leaders of Greece, North Macedonia, and Moldova to participate in the Ukraine – Southeast Europe summit. Last year, this forum took place in October in Croatia, and it is expected to serve as a platform for discussing important security and cooperation issues in the region.
