In Kyiv, a train driver is accused of violating safety regulations, resulting in serious bodily harm to a passenger.

Details of the Incident at the “Troieshchyna 2” Station

During the departure of the electric train from the “Troieshchyna 2” station, the driver closed the doors and began to move without ensuring that all passengers had boarded the carriage. As a result, an 82-year-old man, who stumbled and fell while boarding, became trapped in the doors. His legs remained outside the carriage, and in this position, he traveled to the next stop.

At the next platform, the passenger sustained significant injuries, including open fractures of both legs, when his limbs got caught on the platform edges.

Legal Qualification and Further Actions

The Dnipro District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv has completed the pre-trial investigation in this case. The driver’s actions have been classified as a violation of railway safety regulations that caused serious bodily harm to the victim. An indictment has already been sent to court.
