The pre-trial investigation has been completed in the capital regarding a 28-year-old Kyiv resident accused of fatally beating his partner, and the case has been sent to court.

Details of the Tragedy in the Podil District
The tragic incident occurred in early April of this year in the Podil district of Kyiv. In the morning, a man contacted law enforcement, reporting that he had found his partner unresponsive in their apartment. The police immediately arrived at the scene and began an investigation.
“The police established that the evening before, a domestic conflict arose between the partners while under the influence of alcohol, during which the perpetrator beat the 41-year-old woman, while he continued to drink alcohol in the kitchen until morning. The victim sustained multiple injuries, which led to her death shortly thereafter. In the morning, the offender, discovering the woman’s body without signs of life, called the police and reported the incident, attempting to mislead the investigation regarding the circumstances of her death,” the police reported.
Criminal Responsibility and Further Actions
After analyzing the collected evidence, law enforcement determined that the perpetrator was the victim’s partner. He was arrested and charged under part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional grievous bodily harm resulting in the victim’s death. According to the sanctions of the article, the man faces imprisonment for up to ten years.
The indictment has already been sent to court, where a hearing on the case of domestic violence with fatal consequences will begin shortly.
