Previous Achievements of Ukraine in the Competition
It is worth noting that this is not Ukraine’s first success in the international competition Wiki Loves Monuments. Ukrainian photographers have previously made it to the top three winners three times. For instance, in 2014, a photograph by Kostiantyn Bryzhnychenko depicting the Sviatohirsk Monastery in Donetsk Oblast took first place. In 2021, a panorama of the blue room in the Samchyky Palace in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, created by Serhii Zysk, won third place.
Recognition of Ukrainian Photography
These achievements reflect the high level of Ukrainian photographers and their contribution to the cultural heritage of the country. Awards at international competitions highlight the importance of preserving and promoting Ukraine’s historical landmarks through art.
