In the Pechersk district of Kyiv, the largest state flag of Ukraine, located at the Memorial Complex “National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II,” has been temporarily lowered. This decision was made due to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions.

Reason for Lowering the Flag

According to meteorologists, wind gusts of 15–20 meters per second are expected in the capital on December 26. To protect the flag from potential damage, it has been decided to keep it lowered until weather conditions improve.

Characteristics of the National Flag

The largest flag of Ukraine is installed on the Pechersk Hills. Its flagpole reaches nearly 90 meters in height, the structure weighs 32 tons, and the size of the flag itself is 16 by 24 meters. This is one of the key symbols of Ukrainian statehood in the capital.
