A charitable initiative called “Christmas Bookcrossing” has started in the capital, organized by the bookstore “Shining Book” ahead of the winter holidays.

Purpose of the Initiative and Participation Conditions
The book collection is taking place in partnership with the student parliament of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv as part of the “Gift of Christmas” campaign. The aim is to support children from orphanages and Ukrainian soldiers undergoing rehabilitation.
“We are collecting books for children from orphanages and for our heroes – soldiers in rehabilitation,” the announcement states.
How to Participate and What You Need to Know
To participate in the initiative, you need to purchase a new book or bring your own in excellent condition and leave it in a specially designated collection area inside the bookstore. Only publications in the Ukrainian language are accepted for participation.
Everyone who joins the initiative will receive a one-time 10% discount on book purchases at “Shining Book”. The campaign is open to all interested until December 22, and the bookstore is located at: 6 Velyka Vasylkivska Street.
