The United States of America has imposed sanctions against three individuals and three entities from Russia, as well as one bulk carrier. In a statement published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the new measures are aimed at restricting the activities of these individuals and companies.

List of New Sanctions
The sanctions target Russian citizens: Yuri Belyakov, Vyacheslav Vidanov, and also a citizen of Russia and Afghanistan, Sokhrab Gairat. According to information, the Afghan Ushanga Gairat, who is registered in Russia, has also been included in the sanctions.
Among the entities that have fallen under the sanctions are LLC “Edison,” LLC “Colibri Group,” and LLC “Sky Frame.” The bulk carrier AM Theseus is also on the list. The reason for the sanctions is the connections of these companies with the Yemeni Houthi group, which the U.S. considers to be terrorist.
Exemption from the Sanctions List
At the same time, Karina Rotenberg, the wife of businessman Boris Rotenberg, who is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been removed from the OFAC sanctions list. She was added to this list in March 2022 in connection with the onset of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine.
