Features of the All-Terrain Vehicle

This year, the list of unusual cargo includes an amphibious all-terrain vehicle in a bright pink color with the inscription ‘Pink Flamingo’ on board. The uniqueness of this machine lies in its ability to move on both land and water. It easily navigates roads, off-road terrain, deep snow, or mud, and is also capable of swimming in rivers and seas. Such multifunctionality ensures the necessary mobility and endurance, which is crucial for operations in the extreme conditions of Antarctica.

The Journey to the Antarctic Station

The all-terrain vehicle, which belongs to the National Antarctic Scientific Center, embarked on a challenging journey after completing customs procedures. Initially, the vehicle was sent in a container to Chile, and from there it will be delivered to the ‘Academician Vernadsky’ station in Antarctica by a Ukrainian research vessel.

Thanks to its amphibious characteristics, this vehicle will become an indispensable assistant during scientific expeditions at the station, providing researchers with the necessary maneuverability and adaptability in the challenging weather and geographical conditions of the continent.
