A package containing historical artifacts was en route from Dnipro to Kazakhstan

Kyiv Customs has transferred unique archaeological finds, dated to the 11th–13th centuries, to the Lviv Historical Museum. These items were seized from one of the postal shipments and hold cultural and historical significance for Ukraine.
Attempt to Illegally Export Artifacts
According to the customs service, a sender from Dnipro attempted to illegally ship three bronze cross pendants to Kazakhstan. Such crosses were widely used in the territory of Rus during the pre-Mongol period and possess considerable historical value.
“The crosses are double-sided and decorated with enamel. They belong to authentic examples of Christian metalwork from Rus. The production of this type of cross was established in Kyiv starting from the late 11th century, reaching its peak in the 12th century,” commented the find at the capital’s customs office.
Artifacts Transferred to the Museum
Since archaeological items are prohibited from being sold, privately collected, or exported outside of Ukraine, customs officials confiscated these historical valuables and transferred them for safekeeping to the Lviv Historical Museum. Thus, the unique examples of Christian metalwork from Rus remain in state ownership and will be available for scientific study and exhibition.
