An official from the capital’s municipal enterprise ‘Kyivtelezservis’ is accused of negligence in office, which led to significant financial losses for the city budget.

Details of the case regarding the procurement of equipment
Investigators from the Pechersk police department have submitted an indictment to the court against the head of one of the departments of ‘Kyivtelezservis’. He is suspected of failing to properly fulfill his official duties during the organization of the procurement of communication devices in 2023. At that time, equipment for wireless internet connection was purchased for a total of 144 million hryvnias.
It has been established that the official did not conduct proper monitoring of market prices, resulting in the equipment being purchased at a significantly inflated price. As a consequence, the city overpaid the supplier by more than 20 million hryvnias from the local budget.
“The official of the municipal enterprise did not conduct proper price monitoring, and as a result, the equipment was purchased at an inflated cost. The overpayment to the supplier amounted to over 20 million hryvnias, which were allocated from the capital’s community budget,” the police noted.
The accused faces punishment
Under the charged article, the official faces imprisonment for up to five years. In addition, the court may prohibit him from holding certain positions or engaging in specified activities for up to three years.
