Throughout 2025, the explosive ordnance disposal units of the Kyiv police conducted thorough inspections and cleared over 2.2 million hectares of urban areas. As a result of intense attacks from the Russian Federation, the city was contaminated with explosive remnants — shells, aerial bombs, missile components, and other items that posed a direct threat to the lives and safety of residents.

“Since the beginning of the year, capital explosive experts have responded to 3,249 calls, including 1,017 after drone and missile strikes on Kyiv. As of today, specialists have cleared 2,254,865 hectares of the capital from explosive devices, taking into account repeated visits to locations,” the statement reads.
