An initiative is gaining momentum in Kyiv aimed at simplifying the process of enrolling children in kindergartens. City residents are appealing to the leadership of the Kyiv City State Administration to introduce an option in the popular electronic service ‘Kyiv Digital’ that would allow parents to submit documents online for their child’s enrollment in a preschool educational institution.
Electronic Petition and Arguments of Signatories
The relevant electronic petition has already been published on the official website of the Kyiv City Council. The initiators note that most mothers with young children are forced to spend a significant portion of their time on parenting and household chores, and therefore do not always have the opportunity to visit institutions in person to enroll their children in kindergarten.
“The vast majority of mothers with preschool-aged children dedicate nearly all their time to raising their children and managing household tasks, thus lacking sufficient time to enroll their child in a preschool educational institution,” emphasize the authors of the initiative.
Advantages of Digital Services for Parents
The introduction of the ‘Enrollment in Kindergarten’ function in the ‘Kyiv Digital’ app aims to simplify the application submission process, making it more convenient and modern. It is expected that this will not only save parents’ time but also improve communication between families and municipal institutions. Among the main arguments are the improvement of access to preschool education and the reduction of bureaucratic burdens on families with children.
