Details of the Suspect’s Arrest
The prosecutor’s office has charged a 42-year-old resident of Kyiv, accused of creating a scheme for the illegal transportation of men of draft age across the state border of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the suspect sought clients among those trying to avoid mobilization and offered to arrange their departure to Romania in two ways: with forged documents or by swimming across the Tisza River.
Operation Scheme and Reward Amount
The perpetrator personally picked up potential “clients” in Kyiv, accompanied them by train to the Transcarpathian region, and then organized their illegal border crossing via the Tisza River. This method was actively promoted by the man, emphasizing its affordability and ease of organization. He received his reward through a taxi service, and during his arrest, part of the funds he had received—$5,500—was found in his possession.
“He was looking for conscripted individuals, promising to organize their ‘relocation’ to Romania through two schemes: with fake documents and also—by swimming across the Tisza River.”
It is known that the organizer’s arrest took place immediately after he received payment for providing illegal services. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
