The women’s team of the Mikhail Dragomanov National University of Ukraine won the “gold” at the 2025 European Futsal Championship for universities, which recently concluded in Zagreb, Croatia.
The Path to Victory: Match Results
Under the guidance of head coach Yulia Forsyuk, the Kyiv team displayed confident play throughout the tournament. In the group stage, the Ukrainian team defeated the University of Jyväskylä from Finland 5:1, the University of Münster from Germany 2:0, and the Polish team WSG Bydgoszcz 2:0.
In the quarter-finals, the Ukrainians confidently beat the Minho University team from Portugal 4:1. The semi-final also ended in victory: against the University of Nantes from France with a score of 5:1. In the final match, the Kyiv team overcame the University of Barcelona (Spain) with a score of 4:2, claiming the title of European champions among student teams.
Scale of the Championship and Participation of Representatives
This year’s European Championship featured 15 women’s and 18 men’s teams from 16 European countries. Thanks to the efforts and skill of the Kyiv players, Ukraine won the main trophy among women’s student teams at this prestigious tournament for the first time.
