The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has taken measures to prevent the illegal seizure of 14 buildings and structures belonging to the state enterprise «National Film Archive of Ukraine», located on the outskirts of the capital.
This is reported by Kyiv24
According to information from NABU’s press service, the investigation revealed that the organizers of the scheme planned to acquire the enterprise’s property at an undervalued price, under the pretext of its economic recovery. The actual value of the mentioned property is approximately 42 million hryvnias.
Details of the Case
In connection with this scheme, officials from the Ministry of Culture and the leadership of the National Film Archive were involved. Currently, nine individuals have been charged with committing official crimes, including the former Deputy Minister of Culture, the head of a department within the ministry, and the first deputy general director of the National Film Archive.
It is worth noting that in September of last year, one of the main suspects in this case — the former head of the society — was extradited to Ukraine. Additionally, five participants in the crime have entered into agreements with the investigation, admitted their guilt, and transferred over 53 million hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Court Proceedings
At this time, the indictment against four participants in this scheme has already been submitted to the court for consideration. Authorities continue the investigation to establish all the circumstances of the case and hold all involved parties accountable.
