Official Announcement of Departure

Korniienko announced that Lyudmyla Buymister’s departure from the faction occurred in accordance with her statement and pursuant to part 3 of Article 60 of the Verkhovna Rada’s regulations.

“Personnel matter: according to the submitted statement and in accordance with part 3 of Article 60 of the Verkhovna Rada’s regulations, I announce the departure of Member of Parliament Buymister Lyudmyla Anatoliivna from the parliamentary faction of the political party All-Ukrainian Union ‘Batkivshchyna’ in the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation,” announced Korniienko.

Lyudmyla Buymister herself has not publicly commented on her decision to leave the faction.

Political Path and Context

Buymister was elected to parliament from the ‘Servant of the People’ party, but was expelled from that faction in 2021. In July 2025, she joined the ‘Batkivshchyna’ faction.

It is worth noting that on the same day, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) confirmed reports of suspicion against one of the politicians, referred to as the “leader of one of the parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.” According to the investigation, the suspect is accused of initiating negotiations with certain Members of Parliament regarding the establishment of a “systemic mechanism for providing unlawful benefits in exchange for loyal behavior during voting.”

Sources indicate that the suspicion pertains to the leader of the ‘Batkivshchyna’ party, Yulia Tymoshenko. In response, Tymoshenko stated after the search at the party’s office in Kyiv that she considers the actions of law enforcement to be a “political order” and “categorically rejects all absurd accusations.”
