In the very heart of the capital, near the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People, a new memorial sign has appeared, honoring the heroism and contributions of Ukrainian sailors in defending the country. It is symbolic that it was installed precisely at the site where the Soviet monument once stood.

Forged in battles since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have become one of the most important pillars of defense in southern Ukraine. The Navy effectively protects maritime borders, preventing Russian landings in ports and successfully attacking enemy ships and vessels, including the destruction of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser “Moskva”.

Thanks to the decisive actions of Ukrainian sailors, the enemy was forced to retreat from the northwestern part of the Black Sea and evacuate all its ships from the temporarily occupied Crimea. The new memorial sign is intended to remind us of the courage and dedication of the defenders of Ukraine, who are fighting for the freedom and independence of the state.
