Cooperation Between Ukrainian Authorities and International Organizations

The implementation of repatriation has become possible thanks to the joint efforts of various structures: the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service, as well as other units of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Sector.

“We express our gratitude for the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Special thanks to the personnel of the Central Administration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for the provision of measures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is responsible for transporting the repatriated to designated state specialized institutions and organizing the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement representatives in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic examination in the Ministry of Health,” wrote the Coordination Headquarters.

The organized return of bodies is the result of coordinated actions between state structures and the support of international organizations, which ensures proper documentation and identification of the fallen defenders of Ukraine.
