Purpose of the Visit and Foundation Initiatives

Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv to support the rehabilitation process of Ukrainian soldiers injured during the war. He emphasized that he aims to do everything possible to assist in the recovery of wounded defenders.

“We cannot stop the war, but we can do everything we can to help the recovery process,” he said.

It is expected that the Duke of Sussex, along with the Invictus Games Foundation team, will present new initiatives aimed at enhancing the rehabilitation of military personnel who have been injured on the front lines. Meetings are also planned for Prince Harry with Ukrainian veterans and Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

Activities of Invictus Games and Ukraine’s Participation

The Invictus Games Foundation was established by Prince Harry in 2014 to support service members who have been injured during their service. The first games took place in London, featuring 400 military athletes from 13 countries. Ukraine joined the project in 2017, and since then, its team has participated in international competitions among veterans and military personnel.

No official statements have been made by the Ukrainian side regarding the Duke of Sussex’s visit at this time.
