On the evening of April 13, reports of allegedly planned direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Ankara were denied. The host of the program “TSN. Week” on the “1+1” channel, Alla Mazur, referred to a comment from Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, emphasizing the absence of such agreements.

Negotiations on Navigation Safety

Earlier, CNN Turk reported that a meeting between the defense ministries of Ukraine and Russia was to take place with Turkey’s mediation. This confirms Turkey’s role as the organizer and mediator of the negotiations.

Agreements with the USA

On March 25, the White House announced that agreements on safe navigation in the Black Sea were reached during negotiations with Ukraine in Saudi Arabia, as well as a mechanism to prohibit strikes on energy facilities. The Kremlin noted that the agreement to ensure navigation safety in the Black Sea would only take effect after a number of sanctions on Russian banks involved in agricultural trade, as well as on Russian ships, were lifted.
