The first meeting of defense ministers from 30 countries in the format of a “coalition of willing” is scheduled to take place at NATO headquarters in Brussels, aimed at ensuring long-term peace in Ukraine. This initiative was launched in February by France and the United Kingdom.

At the meeting, which will occur on April 10, UK Defense Minister John Healey and his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu will host representatives from approximately 30 countries involved in coalition planning. During the discussions, participants plan to focus on creating multinational support forces to assist Ukraine in achieving lasting peace.
Discussions on Security and Support for Ukraine
The following day, April 11, there will also be a meeting in the “Ramstein” format, chaired by the United Kingdom and Germany, with the participation of defense ministers from 50 countries. This meeting will focus on the effective use of each country’s capabilities within the coalition to support Ukraine’s long-term defense and security.
It should be noted that the United Kingdom organized the “Ramstein” format group for the first time in February, bringing together 46 countries and providing 1.5 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine. This effort is part of the Prime Minister’s plan to increase the supply of weapons and equipment, as well as to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
“This work aligns with the Prime Minister’s four-point plan to support Ukraine by increasing the supply of weapons and equipment.”
This year, the United Kingdom will provide 4.5 billion pounds in military support to Ukraine, a record amount. Recently, the country announced an allocation of 1.6 billion pounds for the supply of over five thousand air defense missiles to Ukraine.
France and the United Kingdom have recently held a series of summits with European leaders to determine what security guarantees can be offered to Ukraine, as well as how the contingent of foreign troops will look in the future.
