The installation of the country’s main New Year tree will begin next week at Sofia Square in Kyiv. The organizers have chosen a modern artificial tree that stands 16 meters tall, which will be the central decoration of the celebration.

Design of the Tree and Festive Atmosphere
According to the organizers’ concept, the tree will be adorned with ornaments in pastel, green, blue, and gold shades, so that it harmoniously blends with the bell tower and domes of St. Sophia Cathedral. Next to the tree, an ice rink will be set up for the celebration’s guests, and during the “Winter Herbata” festival, visitors will be able to taste herbal teas made from cherry, apple, and other tree branches.
“This is a small but necessary therapy – for both those who create and those who come. Because everyone needs a little celebration today,” says Ihor Dobrytsky.
Community Involvement and Funding
The installation of the New Year tree, as in previous years, is funded by the organizers and sponsors, without the use of budget funds. The organizers also invite everyone interested to join the process of decorating the tree. To do this, one can join a special group on Telegram or Viber, where everyone can contribute to creating the festive atmosphere.
