The staff of the Young Theater in Kyiv insists on the dismissal of their artistic director Andrii Bilous and the director of the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration, Serhii Anzhiiak. A corresponding petition has already been registered on the Kyiv City Council’s website.

The authors of the appeal report that dozens of female theater employees have openly stated about years of abuse of power, psychological pressure, and sexual harassment by Andrii Bilous. According to them, despite public appeals and the resonance in society, the director remains in his position. Serhii Anzhiiak, who is supposed to make personnel decisions, refuses to respond, even with the findings of the internal commission and the collective’s appeal in hand.
Support and Criminal Proceedings
The statement from the signatories notes that 46 members of the theater collective, who call themselves “Group 46,” have publicly expressed their support for the victims and condemned the director’s behavior. At the same time, a criminal proceeding has been initiated at the Shevchenkivskyi Police Department in Kyiv under Article 153 (sexual violence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
