The Kyiv City Council has made a decision that will significantly ease the process of recovering documents for residents of the capital who have been affected by Russian shelling. From now on, Kyiv residents who have suffered losses due to enemy airstrikes will be exempt from paying 70% of the cost of administrative services for document recovery.

How the New Document Recovery Procedure Will Work
The decision was initiated by the Kyiv City Military Administration and supported by the deputies of the Kyiv City Council. The draft document was developed within a special working group that addressed issues of assistance to residents affected by Russian Federation shelling. This innovation allows for financial support for people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances due to the loss or damage of important documents.
Legal Basis and Features of the Decision
According to current legislation, 70% of the fees for administrative services for document recovery were allocated to the community budget. However, the city authorities have gained the ability to make a decision to exempt affected Kyiv residents from this financial burden, which was implemented at the last Kyiv City Council meeting.
“According to current legislation, 70 percent of the payment for administrative services was allocated to the community budget. However, the capital community, by adopting the relevant decision by the Kyiv City Council, has the ability and authority not to collect these funds from the people.”
The implementation of this initiative will contribute to a faster and more accessible recovery of documents for all those affected by the consequences of the war in Kyiv.
