President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Valeriy Vavryniuk as the acting head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU). The relevant decree has been published on the official website of the head of state.

Changes in SBGSU Leadership
The document states that Valeriy Vavryniuk, who holds the position of first deputy head of the SBGSU, will temporarily perform the duties of the head of the agency. The changes in management are related to the president’s personnel decisions regarding the leadership of the border service.
“The first deputy head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Valeriy Pavlovych Vavryniuk, is to temporarily perform the duties of the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.”
Dismissal of Serhiy Deyneka
Additionally, in another decree, Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Serhiy Deyneka from the position of head of the SBGSU. The reasons for this decision have not been disclosed; however, this step indicates significant personnel changes within the border agency.
Currently, Valeriy Vavryniuk will perform the duties of the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine until a new head of the agency is officially appointed.
